IN THE PRESS

‘”Richard and Jennifer are flawed, sexy, compelling characters who remain likable in spite of their moral bankruptcy. Scenes move at a fast clip, and the location descriptions are travelogue-perfect…An international thriller with a strong start, a quick pace, and a finish that’s in the money”

Well written story, based partly on the author's own life, involving a successful businessman who doesn't mind taking risks, his beautiful girlfriend, an elegant but deadly Mafia boss, deception, murder and enough sexual situations to keep it interesting. The authors extensive knowledge of horse racing comes into play on racetracks in both England and the US, culminating in a daring deception involving no less than the hallowed Kentucky Derby.
This book is a thrilling ride.

James Bryant

“…Its prose is active and playful, making good use of various English accents and excellent descriptions of the horse tracks, Spanish villas, elegant houses, expensive cars, and delicious meals that Richard exists among—as well as of the prisons, both cushy and archaic, and basement torture rooms that he encounters.”

About Alan Benning

AB-Website-Photo-1024x851.webp

Author Alan Benning has been a successful businessman in England, Spain, and the United States for over fifty-seven years, and during that time was internationally licensed to own and train racehorses in seven different countries. Born and raised in England, his original life plan had involved football (soccer) but his dreams of turning professional were dashed by a broken leg. Luckily, by that point, he was already well on his way to becoming a successful businessman, and in any case, his true passion had always been the world of horse racing, which “never felt like work.”

For a number of years, he even wrote articles for a national racehorse magazine named The Thoroughbred Times.

When he moved to Florida, he took over a chocolate factory supplying Disney World, Sea World, and the now defunct Burdines, and opened numerous stores selling chocolate and greeting cards. When that phase passed he purchased a 300 acre horse farm in Ocala, before traveling the country training racehorses at most of America’s tracks. Then real estate became a new obsession, followed by ownership of a golf course and (not surprisingly) many more horses.
